Music Ministry
Psalm 100 instructs us to “come into God’s presence with singing”. Some variation of that same instruction is found more than 250 times in the Bible. Making music and singing is simply what the people of God do in God’s presence. It’s how we offer God our praise, and is often a form of prayer. Music touches us in ways that the spoken word cannot, and a song or piece of music can stay with us for some time. Here at Bangor First we appreciate the power of music and its ministry.

If you're interested in becoming a member of any of our choirs or you have musical talent to share, please speak to our Music Director, John Haskell.

Fellowship Choir

The Fellowship Choir sings a wide variety of music, enhancing our Sunday morning worship experience from September to June. The choir's musical offerings also enrich special services, such as Holy Week worship and Christmas Eve Lessons and Carols. The choir practices on Sunday mornings at 9:15.

Bell Choir

Handbells are designed to replicate the sound of church steeple bells, producing distinctive and uplifting tones. Bangor First's adult bell choir plays for special worship services, during the Christmas and Easter seasons, and occasionally during Sunday worship. Practice takes place on Thursday evenings at 7 PM.

Summer Music

While the Fellowship Choir is on hiatus during the summer, a variety of vocalists and musicians of all ages provide special music during Sunday morning worship.

Spirit Weekend

Each September we kick off the new church programming year with a weekend full of inspired and inspiring music with world class vocalist Roosevelt André Credit, along with our own John Haskell and Fellowship Choir. One of the highlights of Spirit Weekend is the Saturday night concert, which is open to the community and features area high school choruses.
