The deadline for the November newsletter is Monday, February 20, 2023. Weekly Services We are holding in-person worship in our sanctuary on Sundays. Masks are optional but are recommended f. You are also welcome to join us each Sunday online by logging into this website and clicking on the F underneath the What We Believe box. Studies & Weekly Devotions Pastor Steve Smith leads a fellowship and study time on THURSDAY evenings from 7-8 on Zoom. New studies are ongoing. If you would like to join this group please let the office know so we can get you on our Zoom invitation list. A Bible / book study group meets on Tuesdays at 1 pm in the church family room. This group does ongoing studies throughout the year. We welcome you to join us. There is also a study group that meets at 8:30 on Sunday mornings via Zoom. Let us know if you would like to participate so we can get a Zoom invite to you! CHURCH SCHOOL (Christian Ed for Children & Youth) Sunday school classes for ages 5-middle school meet weekly on Sunday mornings, excepting the first Sunday of the month when children remain with their families for communion. United Women in Faith The United Women in Faith will meet in person and via Zoom on Saturday, February 11 at 1 pm. Join us for fellowship, study, and prayer. All women of the church are welcome! Church Library There is lots of room to browse the great selection of books in our library. We have books on faith-building on our United Women in Faith bookshelf, and we have new and featured books available on our regular shelves on a wide variety of topics. We also have selections for children and youth. As the cold winter winds howl it's a perfect time to curl up with a good book! Come check us out! Community Meal Our Community meal is providing a free hot meal each Thursday from 4-6 pm. Drive up and have a delicious meal delivered to your car. The meal is also providing hot meals to the homeless in some of the tent cities here in Bangor as well as to the warming center at the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter each week. FOOD CUPBOARD NEEDS FOR THIS MONTH Any non-perishable food and toiletry donations are welcome! Items for the Ecumenical Food Cupboard can be dropped off at the church on Thursdays between 10 and 1:00 and will be delivered to the Food Cupboard. Our church office is open Monday from 7:30-10:30, Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:30-12 and Thursday 7:30-10:30. If you have a need when the office is not open, please leave a message on the church answering machine 945-9567, send an email to bangorfirstumc@gmail.com or in case of emergency contact Pastor Steve directly at 866-2144.
