​Faith Linking In Action

​First United Methodist Church believes that our faith calls us to respond to human need not only by offering charity, but also by working for justice. One way we do that is as a sponsoring member of Faith Linking In Action (FLIA). FLIA is a diverse group of Bangor-area congregations and people of all faiths who have come together to address the root causes of poverty. FLIA works to improve the conditions, policies, and systems that are negatively impacting people’s lives. FLIA Issue Teams currently concentrate their work in three areas: affordable child care, transportation, and food access. For more information, click here.
